The Hills Insider

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

This policy explains what The Hills Insider does with your information. It is written for members, in plain language.

The app is operated by The Hills International ("the Club", "we", "us"). You can reach us about anything in this policy at hylowcs@gmail.com.

Who this applies to

The Hills Insider is a members' app. Accounts are created by the Club for people who have joined it — you cannot sign up inside the app. The app is for adults; it is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

What we collect, and why

Your membership details. Your name, email address and phone number, so we know who you are and can contact you. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash — we cannot read it, and neither can anyone who obtained a copy of our database.

What you do in the app. Your learning progress, the quests you complete, your daily check-ins, the classes and events you book, and your attendance when you scan the QR code at a class. This is what the app is for: it drives your Miles, your streak and your Journey.

Your Miles. Every movement in and out of your two Miles balances, with the reason for it. This is your record as much as ours — it is what the History screen shows you.

Your deposits and trading activity with the Club's broker. Where your membership is linked to a trading account, we receive the total you have deposited and a summary of your trading — the number of trades and the volume. We use it for two things only: to work out your Circle tier and your Circle Miles, and to confirm the quests that depend on real trading. We never see or hold your broker password, and we cannot place, change or close a trade.

Messages you send us. Support tickets and account-deletion requests, including anything you choose to write in them.

Your language choice, so the app speaks to you in English or 中文.

What we do NOT collect

We checked this rather than assumed it:

track you across other apps or websites.

The camera is used for one thing: scanning the QR code to check in at a class. The app asks your permission the first time, images are processed on your device to read the code, and no photograph is stored or sent anywhere.

What is stored on your phone

Your sign-in token and a copy of your member profile are kept on your device so you do not have to sign in every time. Signing out removes them.

Who else sees your information

We share the minimum needed to run the Club, and only with these parties:

deposits credited to it live there. It is operated by the Club.

total and trading summary. Information flows to us; we do not send them your app activity.

whether your membership allows access and tells us what to charge in Miles. It receives your email address and your entitlement — not your password, your phone number, or your class history.

are not permitted to use it for anything else.

Where your information is kept

Our systems are hosted in Singapore and the data may be processed in other countries by the providers above. Wherever it sits, this policy applies to it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you are a member. When you ask us to delete your account we delete your account, your profile details and your activity history. Some records must be kept longer where the law requires it — for example proof of payments already made — and those are kept only for that purpose.

How it is protected

Your password is stored as a hash, never in readable form. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Access to the Club's admin system is limited to staff who need it and is protected by their own credentials. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — but we will tell you if something happens that affects you.

Your choices

You can:

https://insiders.thehillsintl.com/legal/delete-account if you no longer have the app. A person at the Club reviews the request and we confirm with you by email before anything is deleted. Any Miles you hold are cancelled and cannot be paid out; Miles have no cash value.

answer you may complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Changes to this policy

If we change it we will update the date at the top and, when the change is significant, tell you in the app before it takes effect.
